11/20 - The NADCAR Championship Awards Banquet was a party enjoyed by all in attendance. Many great prizes and the top 20 points champions were awarded trophies and season final points pay out.

Steve Kapaun Wins @ MVR 10/30/2010
A very excited Steve and Roxanne after the win.

10/30 - The final race for the NADCAR season had an excellent turn out at Mohave Valley Raceway!! We even had a few drivers join us from the southern club!

Mike Dunn who had a 3 point lead for fourth place in the championship over #10 Helen Henesey going into this evenings race took the 1st heat race win to add to his points tally. He out ran Randy Deines in his #43 loaner truck, and AJ Breu and his quick #93 pick up. Brian Comley had the early lead in heat #2 after points leader Mike Williams had a small run in with Melanie Williams exiting turn 3. Mike bounced back to catch #66 Comley and take the heat win and Frank Phillips finished a close 3rd. Heat #3 had the #90 truck driven by Tim Cotherman out running Ryan Henesey, Steve Kapaun and Mike Bracy for the heat race win.

The Main event was set up to be a fast one. The low line was working and the high line was smooth and fast. This allowed enough room for a slide job or a big outside run!! It proved to be an exciting race. Ryan Henesey lucked out with a low average to start on the front row with a full field of competition behind him. There was one quick yellow to start the race, but 17 green flag laps to follow. Ryan Henesey stretched out a straight-away lead on the field and was looking for the white flag to wave as he lapped all the way up to 14th place before he got in a tangle with one of the lapped cars!! He surrendered the lead to "The Viking" Steve Kapaun with Mike Dunn, Mike Bracy, Mike Williams, and Brian Comley lined up behind him for the restart. When the green flew Dunn dropped the clutch only to blow out 2nd gear and stacking Bracy and Williams up behind him. Comley jumped out of line to take 2nd place and try to chase down Steve Kapaun with only 2 laps to go!! Steve managed to hold off some of NADCAR's best to secure another victory at one the Northern Tracks!! 2nd place went to Brian Comley followed by Mike Bracy, Rat Stafford, Mike Williams, Tim Cotherman, Ryan Henesey, Mike Dunn, Randy Deines and Samantha Zaragoza with her first Top 10 finish!!

Mike Williams 2010 NADCAR Champ
2010 NADCAR Points Champion - Mike Williams

10/16 - Mike Williams clinches the 2010 NADCAR Points Championship. With an impressive 9 wins of 12 events, his points lead is beyond reach with one more race to go. Mike captured the championship in style with another perfect score of 80 but not without a fight.

Heat race action saw Randy Deines, Steve Dunn, and Mike Williams taking the wins.

All 20 cars took the start of the main event a Mohave Valley Raceway with Ryan Henesey jumping out front. Brian Comley spoon passed for the lead and would hold it for most of the main event. The battle was for the second spot as Ryan Henesey, Mike Williams, and Mike Dunn were all fighting over it. The crowd loved the side by side action as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th swapped positions multiple times per lap. Steve Dunn and Rick Godsey followed this group waiting for the opportunity. With 2 laps to go it was time for a charge to the front and Mike Williams did just that with an outside pass around Henesey and Comley in turns one and two. Taking the white flag, the order was Williams, Comley, Henesey, M. Dunn, S. Dunn, and Godsey. They all sailed into turn one with M. Dunn diving low to give Henesey the slide job that ended up being more of a nerf job as they exited turn two. Williams drove in way too deep into turn three and jumped the cushion in the middle of four letting Comley drive up beside him for a sprint to the finish. Williams edged Comley by a wheel at the checkers with Mike Dunn, Ryan Henesey, Steve Dunn, & Rick Godsey very close behind.

10/11 - The season is coming to an end, we have 2 more points races left to decide the finishing order for 2010!! Good Luck!!

10/8 - The Thunder Raceway event scheduled for Oct. 9th has been CANCELLED. The next NADCAR event will be at Mohave Valley Raceway Oct. 16th.

Main Event winner Rick Godsey
10/2 Main Event Winner - Rick Godsey

Randy Deines Wins The Trophy Dash 10-2-2010
10/2 JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash winner Randy Deines

10/2 - Thunder Raceway had a smooth and fast race track prepped from top to bottom for the show Saturday night! The JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash went to Randy Deines. Randy got a great start on Rick Haase, Neil Etter and Seth Gaston and led all 4 laps to take the checkered flag! Heat race #1 saw Heather Henesey in her #11 Coconino Motors truck out run her Dad and Randy Haugen to take the win. Randy Deines took the early lead in heat #2 with the "colored guy" Rick Godsey trying to run him down every corner. Randy held off the hard charging Godsey to take his 2nd checkered flag of the night!! Heat #3 had #G4 George Cooke and rookie contenders #25 Rhett Butler and #52 Seth Gaston, battling for the transfer positions with Tim Cotherman knocking on the door!! Butler and Gaston had a small mix up coming out of 4 which allowed the opening for Cotherman to take the 2nd spot and then capitalize on a great run out of turn 2 to take the lead and checkered flag!! Main Event Time!! George Cooke and Rick Haase led the field to the green flag! The track was fast and smooth, and battles for position were breaking out all over the track. Pat Henesey and Frank Phillips raced side by side for over 8 laps, while Randy Haugen and Heather Henesey battled for the 5th position lap after lap!! Steve Kapaun, Helen Henesey and local favorite Seth Gaston battled for the 8th position! Rick Godsey was picking off cars each lap, he finally positioned himself right on Cookes bumper. He was ready to make a move. Cooke lost it out of 2, Rick wheel hopped over Cookes front left, put his foot in it and took the lead. Godsey now had to hold off the "checker flag happy" Randy Deines to clinch his first win!...Godsey was on rails and drove the last 5 laps flawlessly to take his first main event win! Deines, Pat Henesey, Frank Phillips and Rick Haase finished out the top 5!! 2010
Points are getting tight!! The last 3 races will have a pretty big impact on where everyone falls for the end of the 2010 season!!!!

9/25 - We started off the night at Thunder Raceway with an always exciting JBJ Trucking Trophy dash! Heather Henesey jumped out to a quick lead in her dad's #12 pick-up, she out ran Randy Haugen, all the way from Rio Rancho, NM to the checkered flag. Heat Race #1 went to the JBJ Trucking Sponsored truck of Tim Cotherman. Rick Haase and Frank Phillips followed for 2nd and 3rd place. The 2nd heat had way too many Henesey's! Helen Henesey held her line up top which kept Heather and father, Pat Henesey battling behind her for position. The #10 truck of Helen hot to the checkered flag first with Heather taking 2nd in the #12 just ahead of Pat Henesey driving the #11 Truck! The Main event had Rick Haase leading the pack to the green flag. Heather Henesey took advantage of the outside front row start to lead the first few laps. Tim Cotherman, Pat Henesey and Frank Phillips battled in a close pack right behind her, but the ideal line was up high. Heather still held the lead even after Pat Henesey and Tim Cotherman swapped the 2nd place position countless times to maneuver their trucks on the low line to push past Heather for the 1st place position. Pat Henesey then took advantage of Heather's slip up coming out of turn 2, he drove the #11 Red Rocket in deep on the bottom and let it roll up just ahead of his #12 pick-up to take the lead and win the race. Heather Henesey followed in the 2nd finished, with Tim Cotherman, Rick Haase and Frank Phillips rounding out the top 5!! See everyone at Thunder Raceway for another great night of racing!!

9/18 - Mike Williams Wins Again !!!!!!!! See the updated points championship. Click here. It was the last night of racing for 2010 at Prescott Valley Raceway and 26 cars came to play from all over the state. Tim Cotherman took the first heat of the night with Mike Moyer and David Cooke Jr finishing 2nd and 3rd. Helen Henesey showed the boys that she still had it as she out ran Steve Dunn to the checkered flag with AJ Breu and Brian Comley finishing 3rd and 4th. Mike Williams smoked the competition in heat #3, with Pat Henesey and #67 Mike Dunn finishing right behind him. The B-Main was won by "Mr. Alaska" John Ogden, who out ran Mike Bracy, Rick Haase, Randy Dutra and Josh Randall. Mike Williams is officially unstoppable at Prescott Valley Raceway, he has taken every main event in the 2010 Season. He came from the 7th row, caution after caution, gaining 1 or 2 more spots until he made the move on #14 Ryan Henesey for the lead! The finishing order for the Top 10; Mike Williams, Mike Dunn, Tim Cotherman, Steve Dunn, Ryan Henesey, Pat Henesey, Brian Comley, Mike Moyer and Helen Henesey. Next Race at Thunder Raceway 9/25 with the Non-Winged Sprints and Mini Sprints.

North South Shootout 2010
With a 4th place finish by Rick Godsey he secured the
North South Shoot-Out Championship only 2 points ahead
of Kapaun and 8 points ahead of 3rd place Helen Henesey.

North South Shootout 2010
What a great weekend, thanks to everyone for coming up!!
Looks like South took the trophy...

9/4 - 9/5 --North South Shoot-Out 2010!!! I want to give another THANK YOU to all of our sponsors for this weekend’s North South Shoot-Out Event: JBJ Trucking, C & C Auto Repair, Black Diamond Auto Glass, Rick & Kim Fernau, Send Out Cards, Coconino Motors, Century Sprinklers and Dwarf Car Company, and Peggy and Casey for helping to run the show!! The payout was excellent throughout the entire field!! Thank you Tim Cotherman and Frank Phillips on securing all of the extra purse money for the event!!
Saturday Night We had a pretty even spread between the North and South, 12 Southern Guys and Gals came up the hill, with 11 Northern Contenders who came to defend their trophy! Saturday nights Dwarf Car Co. Trophy Dash went to Rick Godsey, he kept the quick middle high groove and was able to hold off a fast Randy Deines and Neil Etter. Heat 1 was the debut race for “Mr. 79 cent” Brian Stehr, watch out DDCC, the car is pretty quick!! He took the heat win with #32 Rick Godsey finishing second ahead of Tim Cotherman and Rat Stafford. Heat 2 was taken by Ryan Henesey who out ran Todd Bennett and Steve “The Viking” Kapaun. Heat 3 went to #12 Pat Henesey, he was followed by 2 more of the quick Northern contenders Neil Etter and Frank Phillips. We had a qualifying B Main for Saturday nights race, Rat Stafford proved he knew how to get around Thunder Raceway, the #95 took the win, followed by Marcos Zaragoza, Russ Maurer, Erick Gibson and Hell on Wheels Henesey rounding out the top 5.
The Dwarf cars put on another awesome show for the fans Saturday Night. The high line was definitely the way around the track. Only a few could make the bottom work to get to the front. There was great action throughout the pack, Brian Stehr and Ryan Henesey swapped positions every lap. Marcos Zaragoza, Erick Gibson and Kapaun had a quite few 3 wide moments going for the 6th place position. Helen Henesey was on rails coming through the pack, she was one of the only drivers who could get her truck to the bottom of the track and move forward. She picked off 10 drivers, earning the Hard Charger and 4th Position. Tim Cotherman taught the South a lesson with his dominating performance leading every lap, with Rick Godsey finishing right on his bumper. Ryan Henesey, Helen Henesey, Neil Etter, Steve Kapaun, Marcos Zaragoza, Erick Gibson, Heather Henesey and Randy Deines rounded out the field for the top 10 spots. Points for the night left Tim Cotherman, Rick Godsey and Ryan Henesey in a 3 way tie for 1st Place…

North South Shootout 2010
Ryan Henesey 3rd, Tim Cotherman 1st, & Rick Godsey 2nd
in Saturday night's main event.

After a long day of Go-Karts… which Kapaun napped through … It was back to racing!! Sunday nights Trophy Dash was once again a fight to the finish, Southern Guy Marcos Zaragoza beat the North’s Frank Phillips in to turn 1. The #9 Coupe of Zaragoza kept a clean line while Steve Kapaun and Pat Henesey had quite the battle behind him. The track was fast and the new “Young Gun” Zaragoza showed “The Old Timers” that he was a force to be reckoned with!! He took the win!! Nice job Marcos!!

North South Shootout 2010
Marcos Zaragoza takes the Sunday Trophy Dash

The heats were going to be fast once again with such a smooth track! Heat 1 had the Coconino Motors Long Haul Winner, Erick Gibson, taking the checkered flag ahead of Helen Henesey and Rick Haase. Heat 2 was taken by Mr. 79 cent, followed by N/S Championship contenders Steve Kapaun and Ryan Henesey. Heat 3 had a first time heat winner Neil Etter, beating the Thunder Raceway veteran Pat Henesey and N/S Championship Contender Rick Godsey. After the heat races…. Points were still tight… Rick Godsey and Ryan Henesey were still tied for the first spot, Tim Cotherman fell down 4 points with his 5th place heat finish. Kapaun and Helen Henesey were still in contention for the Championship but needed to make some big moves and quick!! Steve Kapaun and Helen Henesey were both anxious for a first time win after pulling the 1st and 2nd starting spots for the main. Pat Henesey and Neil Etter would line up behind them with the other contenders for the N/S Championship not to far behind. The main had a rocky start… 2 laps in had a pile up going in to turn 3… Ryan Henesey was taken out of Championship contention, Erick Gibson retired to the infield for the night, #52 Jason Craner was rolled back on to his wheels to continue the race… yes… he still kept racing. Marcos Zaragoza still all smiles from his Trophy dash win, was towed off the track along with Rick Haase. And now back to racing, the Championship was still up in the air!! The track was dry slick with the best line being up high. Frank Phillips, Randy Deines and Tim Cotherman battled side by side for countless laps for the 6th spot. Rat Stafford and Heather Henesey battled for the 9th and 10th positions, and Rick Godsey finally wore down Brian Stehr to jump into 4th. The #47 Steve Kapaun was flying in the high line and didn’t slip once. Helen Henesey was right on his bumper making every move she could to take the win from him. Kapaun held strong and never gave her the opportunity. He led the field to the checkered flag just ahead of Helen Henesey, Pat Henesey, Rick Godsey and Brian Stehr.

North South Shootout 2010
Way to go Steve!! Congrats on your 1st win!!

8/28 - A fast Prescott Valley Raceway only yielded one caution flag at the start of the K&N Custom Concrete & Landscape main event. From then on it was Mike Williams on his way to his 7th win of the season. Early leader Butch Dunn driving his back-up car battled with Randy Dutra #27at the front while Williams worked his way forward to take the point with half of the laps remaining. Dutra passed Dunn to take the 2nd position finishing with his best drive to date. Rounding out the top five was Mike Dunn and Todd Bennett visiting from the DDCC.

Heat race #1 winner Brian Comley out ran his brother in law Mike Dunn with Fred Defibaugh taking 3rd.

Heat race #2 saw Helen Henesey drive her Coconino Motors backed pick up to the top spot followed by Randy Dutra and Todd Bennett.

Rick Haase winner of the Tire Giveaway
Rick Hasse winner of the 1st annual NADCAR Tire Giveaway

8/14 - Everyone was ready to race on saturday at Thunder Raceway with no sign of rain in sight! 23 Cars competed in the 4 heat races. The JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash was an exciting one with the Top 4 Ranked drivers, by average, Pat Henesey and Steve Kapaun went side by side for the first 3 laps with Mike Williams waiting for his chance to strike. Mike found the opportunity on lap 3, he split Henesey and Kapaun and took the Trophy Dash Win!!
Randy Haugen returned to dwarf car racing with a vengeance. He took the heat race #1 from local guy Rick Hasse and the quick AJ Breu. Heat 2 went to George Cooke who was being reeled in by #10 Helen Henesey and Frank Phillips. "Mr. Unstoppable" Mike Williams drove to the front of heat #3 and lead Randy Deines and his wife Melanie Williams to the checkered flag. Heat #4 was won by the dwarf car veteran #12 Pat Henesey who out ran the tough Steve Kapaun all the way from Surprise, AZ.
George Cooke held the lead for the first 10 laps of the C & C Auto Service Main Event, with his strategically timed restarts, no one could touch him!! Kapaun finally caught on around lap 11 and ran away with the lead with AJ Breu in tow. Mike Williams slowly worked his way through the field and could see Kapaun in the distance with only a few laps to go. Kapaun's luck ran out and a caution flag came out, allowing the field to catch up to his outstretched lead. Mike Williams took advantage and drove in hard to maneuver pass the #47 and take the lead and checkered flag!! A good time was had by all!!

See everyone on the 28th at Prescott Valley.

7/24 - The threat of rain could not hold back the 29 car NADCAR field from invading PVR for race #10 of the series. Some of the DDCC boys showed up from the south. More entrants drove all the way from Show Low, Az. and the Tatum's came from Kanab, Ut. again!. The track proved to be in exceptional shape considering all the rain in previous days.

The hi-lite of the race for some of the crowd was the end over end flip by David Cook Jr. in the hot laps after he tangled with Ryan Henesey in his rebuilt coupe. David walked away but his car needs repair work.

Heat #1 ironed out with Mike Dunn taking the win followed by Helen Henesey and Russ Madden fresh off a motor swap. Matt Decker returned to NADCAR driving the Mike Williams "Flinstone Ride" to the final transfer spot.

Heat #2 was a runaway for Mike Moyer with John Ogden of John Ogden's Custom Painting in tow. The battle was behind them with Brian Comley out dueling AJ Breu and Ryan Henesey just missing the transfer spot.

Heat #3 Randy Deines and his new "candy apple" red wheels swapped the lead each lap with Gilbert, AZ native Rick Godsey to finally hit the checkered flag and take the heat win with Butch Dunn on 3 cylinders taking third. Seth Gatson transfered to the main with a fourth place finish.

Heat #4 was all about series champion Mike Williams at the point and series points leader Tim Cotherman chasing him. Pat Henesey and Todd Bennett rounded out the transfer positions.

The B Main looked to be a run away for Ryan Henesey until he had to resign to a leaking oil line which sent a few cars spinning. The main was cut short due to the oil slick around the entire track.

The John Ogden's Custom Painting sponsored Main Event started with Mike Moyer on the pole and he took command for almost the entire race. Russ Madden running in the top 3 had to retire at the first caution. Helen Henesey and John Ogden ran side by side dicing for second place for a number of laps early in the main with Brian Comley, Mike Williams, and Mike Dunn hunting for a way around. Moyer & Ogden took up the fast inside line while Williams, Comley, and Dunn drove all the other lines looking for a way around. The last restart proved to be the race decider as the starting order was Moyer, Ogden, Williams, Comley, and Dunn. With the drop of the green, Williams jumped to the outside and powered by Ogden into turn one then around the outside of Moyer. Dunn got by Brother in Law, Comley for fourth. followed by Helen Henesey, AJ Breu, Randy Deines, Storm Phillips and Heather Henesey. Williams ran away from the field to take another perfect score of 80 points.

Tim Cotherman Main Event Win
Tim Cotherman scores a perfect 80 with the Main Event Win

Frank Phillips Trophy Dash Win
Flag to Flag JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash win for Frank Phillips

6/26 - Weather was perfect for a great night of racing at Thunder Raceway!! Frank Phillips started off the night with a dominating performance in the JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash, leading from the green flag to the checker! Heat #1 went to Tim Cotherman who out ran teammate #60 Russ Madden and John Ogden. Two of our new rookies Seth Gaston and Jason Craner had a battle of their own and finished 4th and 5th. Heat #2 went to Mike Williams who out ran AJ Breu and Neil Etter. Heat #3 was taken by Pat Henesey who out ran fast Frank Phillips and Rick Hasse. #63 Rick Hasse started on the pole for the 20 lap feature and lead the field to take the green. Hasse was unfortunately victim to the wreck in turn 3 of the first lap. This allowed #10 Helen Henesey to move into the front row and restart the field for the 20 lap main. The #10 was finally hooked up and she ran away from the field after every caution and restart. Pat Henesey was gaining ground on the #10 Pick-up while also trying to hold off the #43 of Tim Cotherman. With about 8 to go Pat and Helen were swapping the lead and side by side for every lap. After every slide job Pat gave Helen, she showed him that she wanted her first win and drove right under him and took the lead back. With 3 laps to go the unthinkable happened.... Pat Henesey drove in hard on the bottom, Helen Henesey held her line in 1st on the top. Pat... her husband, took her out, ran right into the side of her, broke her shock, gave her a flat tire. The crowd was silent, except for Tim Cotherman who lead the final 2 laps ahead of Neil Etter, Mike Williams, Randy Deines and Heather Henesey. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July Weekend!!

6/19 - 15 Race ready drivers made the haul out to Mohave Valley Raceway this weekend. Even though the weather was hot, all participants had a great time racing on the fast dry slick track.

Mike Williams jump out front in the first heat with Mike Dunn and Helen Henesey trailing close behind. A caution on the 5th lap tightened the field up and gave the crowd an exciting green, white checker finish with Mike Williams staying just ahead of Dunn to take the first heat!

The 2nd heat race had Pat Henesey and Heather Henesey starting on the front row, Pat had an early steering rack problem which took him out of the race and into the turn 4 tire barriers. Heather held on for the first few laps before surrendering the lead to Tim Cotherman. Tim grabbed the checkered flag, followed by Brian Comley and Heather Henesey.

Randy Deines and Heather Henesey had the front row for the main, but were ill prepared for the always fast advancing Mike Dunn, Tim Cotherman and Mike Williams. Dunn had the early lead until the point’s leader, Cotherman, came in turn 1 a little “hot” which spun Dunn around and sent Cotherman to the rear for rough driving. This pushed Mike Williams, Heather Henesey, Melanie Williams, Brain Comley and Randy Deines into the top 5 spots. With 8 laps to go could Dunn and Cotherman regain their front positions?? Melanie Williams was fighting for the front spot side by side with Heather Henesey with Brian Comley nosing in to join the battle. The side by side action was great for the fans but allowed Cotherman and Dunn to prove their driving skills and sneak back to the front of the pack. The top 5 contenders at the checkered flag were all neck and neck coming across the line with Mike Williams in 1st, Mike Dunn in 2nd, Tim Cotherman 3rd, Brian Comley 4th and Heather Henesey rounding out the Top 5.

Thank you to all of the long haul drivers from the Show Low / Taylor area for making the 10+ hour round trip, and thank you to the drivers who also made the 6+ hour round trip from Prescott, Prescott Valley and Flagstaff. See you all in Show Low for some much cooler weather!!

6/12 - Saturday nights race at Thunder Raceway was another great event! The track was smooth and tacky, thanks to the late models rolling it in from top to bottom! George Cooke started off the evening with a flawless JBJ Trucking Trophy Dash Victory!! Pat and Helen Henesey switched rides for the evening, Pat to take the #10 truck to the front to win the first heat race ahead of the 2 local guys Frank Phillips and Neil Etter. Rick Godsey and Ben Ritchy made the drive from the valley and both drew the front row of heat 2. Godsey took off with the early lead with Heather Henesey's #11 and the #60 Russ Madden in tow. Godsey got a little loose out of 4 and gave Henesey the win. Godsey recovered to finish 2nd with Russ Madden in 3rd.

The track was still holding moisture for the main from bottom to top, Heather Henesey took the early lead using the high line. Pat Henesey drove the #10 truck threw the track with Tim Cotherman following closely behind. Pat tried to show Heather a wheel on one of the restarts, but she out ran him on the high line. Pat Henesey wouldn't give up. Pat drove in harder on the next restart and "pushed" into the 1st position ahead of Heather. Pat Henesey never looked back, he finished just ahead of Tim Cotherman and Heather Henesey. Neil Etter finished 4th, ahead of Russ Madden, Randy Deines, Helen Henesey, Rick Godsey, Rick Hasse and Ben Ritchy.

The 2010 Rookie of the Year battle is starting off strong!! #25 Rhett Butler out of Show Low is the top contender so far. Others contending for the honor this year will be #77 Josh Randall, #68 Tom Weglin, #52 Jason Craner, #23 Seth Gaston, and #48 Keith Herring.

Quick Reminder!! There is still an opportunity to bring in new Sponsors for the 2010 NADCAR Season. We have a NEW set of 4 tires for raffle. Each $250 sponsor brought in will get a ticket entered into the drawing. The drawing will be held in early July!!!

6/5 - With a good track for all at Prescott Valley Raceway, the NADCAR racers put on an aggressive show for the fans. Multiple yellow flags in the main event couldn't stop Mike Williams from scoring another victory. Brian Comley driving the Black #66 held off Mike for the first few laps. Mike Dunn then challenged Comley but brought out a yellow with a failed pass attempt putting him to the back. Pat Henesey was next in line to challenge as he waited until the last lap for the "bump n Run" move giving him second and Brian Comley taking third. Dunn and Tim Cotherman rounded out the top five.

5/22 - It was another exciting night of racing for NADCAR at Prescott Valley Raceway. 22 drivers from all over Northern Arizona showed up for battle. Pat Henesey #12, Russ Madden #60, and Tim Cotherman #43 swept the 3 heat races. AJ Breu held on to the early K & N Custom Concrete and Landscape Main Event lead from the always charging Mike Williams in the start of the main. Mike slowly picked off positions with each yellow flag that waved. Aj reluctantly surrendered the top spot to finish 2nd right behind Mike Williams' long travel machine. Tim Cotherman rounded out the top 3. The hard charging Mike Moyer and Helen Henesey came in 4th and 5th. Thank you to all of the 2010 Corporate Sponsors: JBJ Trucking of Flagstaff, AZ, NAPA Auto Parts, Arrow Redimix of Flagstaff, AZ, Phillips Racing, White Mountain Cafe of Show Low, AZ, Iron Horse Coating of Flagstaff, AZ, Black Diamond Auto Glass of Show Low, AZ and Al's Rim Auto Parts and Service Center out of Heber, AZ.

5/1 - Round 5 of the 2010 NADCAR season drew 27 entries at Prescott Valley Raceway. Tim Cotherman took heat 1 with Mike Dunn on the prowl at the checkers. Ryan Henesey held off Mike Bracy in heat 2 for the win. Heat 3 saw Brian Comley lead all but the last lap as Mike Williams worked his way up from a rear start to take the win. Pat Henesey got around visiting DDCC member Rick Godsey to win heat 4. The B Semi Main was all Mike Moyer driving the Moyers Heating and Cooling backed machine. AJ Breu and Heather Henesey were in tow but John Ogden had something for them. With an engine that was backfiring in the beginning of the race, John managed to wait it out until the misfire cleared up and then he proceeded to head to the front. Eight cars transferred out of the semi into the main. The Coconino Motors of Flagstaff Main Event went off with only one caution at lap 12. Up until that point it was Brian Comley leading the way with Mike Williams and Ryan Henesey running side by side for 2nd position. Williams made his way around Comley just before the caution. One lap after the restart, Comley over rotated and blocked Ryan's line. Mike Dunn was able to pull into 2nd due to that minor slip. Pat Henesey and Tim Cotherman battled until the last turn for the third position with Cotherman taking the spot.

NOTE - PVR is bumping the NADCAR Main event starting grid back up to 24 cars for our future events.

Storm Phillips Wins!

4/24 - The opening event at Thunder Raceway for the 2010 Season brought some exciting racing for the NADCAR drivers! 17 cars showed up to compete on the dry-slick 1/4 mile for the Saturday afternoon race. Helen Henesey had her #10 truck hooked up to take the trophy dash just ahead of the battling Frank Phillips and AJ Breu. Tim Cotherman managed to drive around the quick Mike Bracy and his JBJ Trucking teammate Russ Madden to take the first heat. John Ogden held on to the 1st place victory just ahead of the hard charging #22 Neil Etter and #11 Heather Henesey. Storm Phillips out of Cornville, AZ started outside front row for the main event in the car he built in 1995. When the green flag flew Storm took off and never looked back. Tim Cotherman, Neil Etter and Mike Bracy had nothing for #25 Phillips as he showed them the way to the checkered flag! Next race is May 1st at Prescott Valley Raceway.

4/6 - Racing at Mojave Valley Raceway seems to be getting more competitive as the NADCAR racers get more laps on the track. And the fans at MVR go crazy when the dwarf cars parade the track. The heat races started with Mike Moyer breaking out front in heat one with Pat Henesey in the 2nd slot. A mid race yellow proved to be Mike's undoing as Pat stuck his nose down low in turn three sending Moyer around the high side surrendering more than one spot. It was hard work in heat race two for Mike Williams starting in the back. JBJ Trucking sponsored #60 Russ Madden lead all but the last lap as Williams finally put the pass on him.

The main event proved to be a pure dominate performance by another JBJ Trucking backed entry of Tim Cotherman. Getting to the front early, he was never challenged for the lead despite a couple yellows. Mike Williams just couldn't get there so it was all Tim Cotherman in the 40 Ford Dwarf Car Company Truck pulling away with every lap.

3/22 - The NADCAR opener was a great success with 18 dwarf cars in attendance. Another smooth track at Mojave Valley Raceway but the conditions were slippery this time. The NADCAR drivers still put on a great show appreciated by the large crowd.
Mike Williams, Pat Henesey, and Fred Defibaugh were all victorious in the three heat races. The main event lineup was heads up no inversion style since this is the first race of the 2010 season. Mike Williams jumped out to the lead at the start with Pat Henesey, Fred Defibaugh, and the Dunn brothers Steve and Mike following. with only 4 laps in the books Fred and Steve tangle in turn 4 causing Fred to spin and bring out the yellow. One lap into the restart Mike Dunn made a move under brother Steve only to take an extremely wide (off track) line down the back straight handing third back to Steve. One lap later Mike regains third while the two leaders pull away. At the halfway mark Pat Henesey drove around Mike Williams on the back straight with a big momentum move off of turn two. Russ Madden took a hard hit on the front straight bringing out the red flag. Only one lap after the restart the yellow flies again. The green white checker final restart was bad news to Mike Williams as his engine left him one cylinder short allowing Mike and Steve Dunn to attack. Mike drove low for the pass as Steve went high around Williams only to run out of room on the back straight and spin regulating him to a 14th place finish. Pat Henesey is proving he is the "Mojave Master" as he once again captured the checkered flag.
